Christopher McMaster is a thorough and disciplined attorney with experience in several areas of law. Mr. McMaster's practice focuses on comprehensive representation of small to mid-size businesses in the areas of Business Formation, Corporate Advisement and Commercial Litigation. He also has substantial experience in the areas of collections and creditor's rights in Bankruptcy.
Mr. McMaster also devotes a substantial portion of his practice to the defense of collection agencies, debt buyers and other financial services entities in consumer litigation cases, particularly those matters involving alleged violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). He also counsels collection agencies and debt buyers on regulatory and compliance issues.
Mr. McMaster obtained his law degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law where he was awarded the American Bankruptcy Institute's Medal of Excellence in the study of Bankruptcy Law. He is admitted to practice in New York State Courts, the United States District Court for the Western District of New York and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of New York. He is a member of the New York State and Erie County Bar Associations.
Mr. McMaster is a former member of the City of North Tonawanda Planning Commission (2000-2002) and a former Member of the Board of Directors of the Judges and Police Conference of Erie County (2002-2008) and Official Legal Counsel (2003-2008). He has also served as outside General Counsel for a local collection agency and debt buyer.
